OUR PROCESS

Personalized Creations

The interior design and project management process typically unfolds in several key stages, ensuring that the project is delivered smoothly, on time, and meets the client’s vision. Here's an overview:

1. Initial Consultation & Discovery

  • Client Meeting: The process begins with an in-depth conversation to understand the client's needs, lifestyle, design preferences, budget, and timeline.

  • Space Assessment: The designer reviews the space (on-site or via photos) to assess its potential and any limitations.

  • Vision & Goals: The client and designer collaboratively define the project goals, setting the tone for the entire design process.

2. Concept Development

  • Design Concepts: The designer develops an initial design concept, including a mood board, color scheme, and possible layout. This concept reflects the client’s style and preferences.

  • Preliminary Budget Estimate: A rough estimate of costs is provided based on the design ideas, materials, and scope of the project.

  • Client Feedback: The client reviews the concepts and provides feedback for any adjustments before moving forward. (Here is where a contract is signed and ideas become real life transformations.)

3. Design Development & Planning

This is where selecting materials comes into play.

  • Detailed Design Plan: The design is refined with more detailed drawings, 3D renderings, and specific material selections (furniture, fixtures, lighting, flooring).

  • Finalized Budget: A detailed project budget is created, including all materials, labor, and contingency costs.

  • Project Timeline: A project schedule is developed, outlining key milestones and installation phases.

  • (Clients are to decide the following options for selecting materials; 1. The designer has full control in "most" sections, 2. The client would like to select items via email, or 3. We spend a day selection shopping with your own personal designer "additional cost".)

4. Sourcing & Procurement

  • Material Selection: The designer sources materials, furniture, and finishes, keeping the client’s budget and preferences in mind.

  • Ordering & Purchasing: The designer handles all ordering, coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure the correct materials arrive on schedule.

  • Coordination with Trades: The designer works with contractors, electricians, and other professionals to ensure everything is aligned with the design.

5. Project Management & Installation

  • Construction Oversight: The designer oversees construction or renovation, ensuring the project is executed according to the design plan. They coordinate between trades, monitor progress, and troubleshoot any issues.

  • Quality Control: The designer ensures that all installations (flooring, cabinetry, lighting) meet the design specifications and quality standards.

  • Site Visits: Regular check-ins are conducted to review progress and keep the project on track.

6. Final Styling & Walkthrough

  • Furniture & Decor Installation: Once construction is complete, the designer oversees the installation of furniture, decor, and accessories to finalize the space.

  • Final Touches: Small details, such as artwork placement and lighting adjustments, are made to perfect the design.

  • Client Walkthrough: The designer and client walk through the space together to ensure everything aligns with the original vision and expectations.

7. Project Completion & Follow-Up

  • Completion Review: Any last-minute adjustments or fixes are addressed.

  • Handover: The project is officially completed, and the designer provides any necessary documentation (maintenance tips, warranties).

  • Client Satisfaction: A follow-up is scheduled after the client has lived in the space for a while to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.

This structured process ensures clear communication, efficient execution, and a beautiful result that meets the client’s needs from concept to completion.

6. Saves Money Long-Term

  • Avoiding Mistakes: By managing the entire design process, designers prevent expensive mistakes such as incorrect measurements, wrong material choices, or poorly coordinated installations.

  • Quality Over Quantity: Designers emphasize long-lasting quality, helping clients invest in pieces and materials that stand the test of time.

7. Enhanced Client Experience

  • Personalized Approach: Designers focus on understanding and translating the client’s vision into reality, making the space uniquely suited to their needs and preferences.

  • Clear Communication: Acting as a liaison between the client and contractors, the designer ensures clear communication and minimizes misunderstandings throughout the project.

By handling both the design and project management aspects, an interior designer streamlines the process, ensuring a harmonious blend of aesthetics, functionality, and efficiency, while delivering a space that exceeds the client’s expectations.
